“When my husband recently asked why the kitchen had been neglected..” Holy crap, if my husband ever said that, he’d have a sponge jammed down his throat and I’d be saying “Because you haven’t cleaned it yet.”

Hi Bethany, to be fair, said hubby was directing this at all members of the family (not just me) while doing the dishes.
He was just feeling a little lonely in the kitchen, not realizing I was equally lonely in the laundry room. Our kids do have chores, by the way, but sometimes our routines get off. It was a pretty fair complaint, and the column doesn’t give me a enough space to give the full picture. Just felt I should stick up for him since he does work hard around the house as we both try to keep on top of seven people under one roof.

Ah, that does help paint the picture.
