Bulletin editorial: Keep School Board travel open

District 833 School Board members should have a restrained approach to using public funds for out-of-state travel, but take advantage of opportunities to learn about education issues and initiatives happening elsewhere. And then they should explain how those practices could help students here. Continue Reading

I can’t wait to read their comments from Ma Lerhrke and the rest of the regressive clam here in CG, complaining about the ‘union thug†teachers gouging the taxpayers with all-expense paid party trips to exotic locations. For the rest of us, having better trained teachers and administrators, you know, the people in charge of the MOST IMPORTANT task imaginable, educating our children) not only makes sense but it is essential. Since I do care for my children, I want their teachers to be the bet paid, best paid and most enthusiastic educators possible. Having teachers attend conferences where they can learn from their peers in other states is an investment in my children’s future. Of course, others will disagree but, like I mentioned above, I do care for my kids and only want the best for them.

Officer Oliver with his standard baseless attacks. Just because someone takes issue with your new city hall being forced on the citizens does not give you the right for your repeated personal attacks.
Can you not make your same attacks by using your real name or badge number?

CG, you are cutting and pasting again? The article here and my comments have NOTHING to do with city hall! Clearly Tea Partiers aren’t that bright

With todays technology, much of this could be achieved possibly through video conferencing.

I think it would be a great idea to have board members who attend conferences publicly report their findings. It would help everyone on the board who didn’t attend, become more informed as well. This seems like a no-brainer idea to me and I highly doubt there will be any objections from board members – why would they want to keep what they learned a secret?
