Commissioner stands against watershed reappointments

Washington County Commissioner Autumn Lehrke says long-serving board members one of whom supported her opponent last fall keep others from getting involved Continue Reading

In typical Republican fashion, Lehrke is dishing out pay-back to all who do not share her ideology. Rep. McNamara did the same thing on the environmental task force up in St. Paul; at least McNamara admitted to it instead of issuing some b.s. explanation like Lehrke did. In any case, we will be much better without either of these 2 folks making public policy. Remember in November!

Huh…Just like someone else who threw a big stink about appointments to a commission, which should have been done behind doors, but was done as a public spectacle…oh wait…it was her husband.

Washington County does have term limits on committees. The watershed appointments do not have term limits. With the merger of the watershed district and the Lower St. Croix Water Management organization, their were stipulations about appointment processs. The recommending cities had to submit 3 names to the county. The cities did place the names of the rep. they wanted and also placed 2 council members names to fulfill the stipulation. The gentlemen who have been appointed are out standing members. Change for change sake does not serve the tax payers well. Our watershed is the most progressive in the state, they have merged with other districts to reduce administrative costs and have instituted a more progressive system for project costs. Why change the team when it is saving us all money.

I hate the thought of confusing Oliver with the facts when his mind is so partisanly made up. So I’ll save my breath and allow others to do so.

I’ll add that Jon is still having obvious separation anxiety by choosing to imply Ms. Lehrke is doing something immoral because a member supported her opponent. That is the sort of unsubstantiated gossip stuff that belongs at the women’s group meetings or in an editorial, not a news story. Perhaps Jon might find some time to cover one.

So according to LCD (LSD?) & Buzz B (or to to B) the author of the news article is wrong, I am wrong, but Ms. Autum (or Spring, or Summer!) Lehrke is ALWAYS right…God forbids that anyone should questions her motives…no, she ain’t a partisan Tea Bagg…er, Partier…nope, not at all
