I feel the population growth in Alexandria is due to annexation not growth in population. Those in alexandria, MN TWP were against this process but had no choice in the matter.

True but the overall county population grew by aprox 4,000 people as well so its not just annexatoin. Most of that growth took place around Alex, township or w/in the city.
