This man is definitely mentally ill, and needs serious help.
On an aside, not justifying his actions, I believe in voluntary euthenasia and suicide should not be illegal. As a basic human right, every individual should be able to determine if the quality of their life is worth living and be allowed to end it if they deem it is not. If needed, they should be allowed assistance.
If our laws were so framed, this man would not be in court and wasting our tax dollars to keep him incarcerated.
