architects and engineers get paid for a building design based on a percentage of total cost of that building. So yes Marty, you are right. There is definitely some “fluff” in that building and it will have some elements that are not needed and are only for looks. There really should be an independent committee of people audit the plan for such items. The real concern is all that money spent on the building wont stay in town. The vast majority of the money spent on materials and labor will go somewhere else. The winning bidder might stay at a local hotel and the workers might eat at local restaurants and then again they might not. There are many construction projects in Worthington where the workers do not stay in Worthington!
