School Board members and District 833 students would benefit from feedback from parents and taxpayers on the district budget questions in play. Continue Reading

Since history screams loudly that attendance at these meetings will always be virtually zilch, I think it would be a great service to the District to take the steps to begin obtaining that feedback online instead. Parents already have an online account established with the district for tracking student progress, if they have kids in school. So those registrations could keep any question polled honest in results of one vote per household. And I’m sure the think tank of whiz’s we have elected and in our community can come up with an equally fair system for our other citizens to weigh in on questions, whose tax dollars are part of the equation. Move us into the electronic era.
And, better still…we have a huge population where some people in this district probably have the knowledge and ability to build that platform on a volunteer basis. If I had those skills, I’d gladly step up and build it. Without those skills though, I still would offer support in doing what I can to help that move along toward completion.
Just a thought that maybe someone can take a run with.
