Improvements await Fillmore, Cardinal Lane

Major upgrades are planned for two blocks of Fillmore Street and a 740-foot section of Cardinal Lane in Alexandria.
At its February 28 meeting, the Alexandria City Council was informed that the city received a $329,000 federal grant to improve Fillmore Street between 7th and 9th Avenue.
Since then, however, City Engineer Tim Schoonhoven discovered that the status of the grant is up in the air; the federal projects have been placed on hold. Continue Reading
