ST. PAUL No one argued over the need to continue state city aid during a Wednesday meeting of Minnesota mayors and Gov. Mark Dayton, but it will be a different story when Republicans who control the Legislature write their budget. Continue Reading

this article illustrates a good point about politics and business. It starts out about property taxes and ends up telling us how the state spends money to support local communities. when in reality the state supports failure and mismanagement and holds no one accountable for it (other than the taxpayers wallet). This is just one example of many, I will use it as it was brought up in the article. Hutch Technology is manufacturing a product that is rapidly becoming obsolete. Instead of taking their awesome and skilled workforce and many fine buildings full of quality equipment and coming up with the next big product they choose to siphon off the taxpayer and let the company go broke. At great expense to the their employees and the taxpayer. The top management will continue to get top pay and benefits and no harm done there because they will just get a position at the next big thing. No decision makers will be held accountable for Hutch Technologies management decision to run the factory into the ground. Hutch Technology got many incentives from the taxpayer to be in business. Hutch Technology has many skilled and talented employees. At one time, Hutch Technology had many options. Now they are nothing but a looming burden on the taxpayer. Hutch tech management will cite various reasons, it is easy to blame foreign competition, and cite high american labor costs. When in reality it is the lack of foresite or resolve of the company management. No Hutch Technology management will ever be held accountable for their mistakes. That is the result of government failure and taxpayer apathy. Time for personal accountability when the taxpayer supports a private business!!!!!!! Eliminate the taxdollar black holes. Fund development with public accountability and let the public know what happens to those tax dollars on a quarterly basis. The fact is, there are many projects being funded right now that should never have been considered. That fact alone will save more money than the cities need. A good dose of reality is all it takes to find the money the cities need.
