…and thanks to the Republicans who insist in shortchanging the education of our children in order to give tax breaks for the wealthy, the District’s woes are just starting: there will be increased class size, layoffs (even teachers?), elimination of programs. By the way, the $17 million rainy day fund should not be used to pay for ongoing expenses, since once this amount is used up, we will be back where we started. This is 100% the fault of Pawlenty’s misguided policies and, thanks to the current GOP control of the legislature, there is no hope that this budget matter will be resolved.

Good point Oliver. This is all the fault of the republican Governor. That fool that signed the bills given to him by? Oh yeah, Democrat controlled House and Senate… But you place 100% blame on the Governor. OK.
Yet today it’s opposite. Rep in the House and Senate, Dem in the Gov officer… Who do you now blame? The House and Senate of coarse.

CG = more smoke and mirros from Tea Party academy! Pawlenty was the one who vetoed the DFL budgets that dealt with school funding without shifting costs and holding back school funding. The DFL was left with no choice but to go along. Now the GOP is doing the EXACT SAME THING thyat Pawlenty did: cutting funding and shifting costs. Dayton will have to compromise eventually in the face of the Taliban-like fanaticism of the Tea Baggin GOPers in St. paul. Tha is why our school district will face a shortfall, that is why our children’s education will suffer…get it now?

They all saw this coming-yet it still got worse. They still want more from us yet we have less to give. Our “experts” have failed us. They should all be fired.
