I’m all about bringing new jobs to the area, but does it really make the most sense for the nation to have tankers stationed in the middle of the country? It seems to me, with no military knowledge, that having tankers on both sides of the continent next to the oceans would make more strategic sense. Is there a good reason to have them in North Dakota? I’m truly curious.

Shane it’s a shorter distance to fly over the top of the earth, i.e. the north pole, than it is to fly from both sides of the continent.
