Our view: Inaccuracy of downtown clocks again putting negative face on Duluth

After questions about parking, the topic that causes Kristi Stokes to cringe the most has to be the nine publicly owned sidewalk clocks that dot Duluth’s center. Questions about their upkeep returned this week because the News Tribune received a letter to the editor (published on today’s page) complaining that the three-faced clock tower at the entrance of Canal Park doesn’t keep accurate time. All three of its faces are wrong. None of them are even close.

The budget is in a dire straights. Maybe people need to wear a watch until they can fix the clocks.
