DNR closes Bass Lake landing due to dangerous ice

The boat landing for Bass Lake in St. Croix County has been temporarily closed to vehicles because of deteriorating ice, the state Department of Natural Resources reported today, Friday, Feb. 18.

The Bass Lake Ice Fishing Contest will be held as scheduled there is over 20″ of good ice on the lake the landing deteriorated do to warm temperatures and salt run off from the parking area. All participants will be asked to park at the Somerset Schools complex where tubing buses will be used to transport them to the lake.
