Wisconsin News — Protests across southern Wisconsin are reported Monday in the wake of the budget proposal offered by Governor Walker as other interested parties from labor, the UW and the state legislature weigh-in and study their options. A public hearing before Joint Finance is schedule for today. Continue Reading

Walker is as heartless and corrupt as they get. Anyone who thinks state employees in Wisconsin have it made is sadly mistaken. I live check to check, have no savings and struggle to pay my bills EVERY month. This strong arm budget proposal is truly radical and dangerous.

It looks like the “don’t cut my freebee” whiners are out in force. Typical Democrat extremists, government can’t possibly get along with less but the taxpayers can.

For those who are sayingm, “I voted for Walker, but I didn’t vote for this.” Yes you did! Walker said he was going to do many of these things before the election. So you got what you asked for, and we all are going to suffer for it. Thanks.

Alice, why are you living check-to-check? Many people I know who do that are not very good money managers.
Rambo, what are the “freebee” you are talking about. I don’t think anybody is talking about freebees. These a job salaries and benefits. Pretty much all jobs have them.
Sue, about half the people I know who a public union members voted for Walker. Perhaps, they will awaken to the reality of political action or inaction.
Walker has been saying this for a couple years. Why all the surprise. Pretty much everyone I know if the private sector has taken pay cuts and are paying more for medical and retirement. Not sure the public workers will get much sympathy from the private sector.

I’m an LTE (limited term employee without a yearly contract) who has been working for the system for the past 13 years. I don’t make the wages I would make in a private sector job. I’ve taken cuts just like the private sector. The ONLY “freebee” I get as an LTE is health insurance – and it’s not free. With Walker’s plan, being an LTE, I will lose my health insurance completely. Don’t tell me I am not a good money manager – have you looked around? Many “good money managers” are having a very difficult time right now. And I am not looking for your sympathy.

This will affect anyone who is a member of a union. Walker wants to take away our ability to collectively bargain, setting us back about 100 years. As a union member, over the last several years, employees have agreed to decreased salaries and benefits for the good of all involved. It’s not just the private sector workers who have made sacrifices.
