Clearly Pat has never tried to chair a meeting with a bunch of enviro-whackjobs chanting , picketing, and doing their very best to disrupt what should normally be a very civil meeting. If the anarchistic environmentalists really believed what they want everyone BUT themselves to do, they would stop using metals, electricity generated via the burning of fossil fuels or the the damming of rivers. The wouldn’t wear synthetic clothes, favoring fur or organically grown cotton. Their meals would consist mostly of grass(not not that kind of grass) and road kill because grass is renewable and eating roadkill doesn’t require the intentional killing of warm fuzzies. Modern building materials will be shunned in favor of logs and rocks gleaned from the area. Their mud huts will be warmed by the glow of their superior intelligence. And they won’t be bothering any of us on the internet anymore because computers contain heavy metals.
Just once I’d like to meet a realist who also happens to be an environmentalist, but I guess that’s an oxymoron.

This is a nice article by the News Tribune. I like our new Congressman’s encouraging energy, enthusiasm and effort. I hope this is a sign of good things to come for our region. We need to be positive in these challenging times.
I look forward to a town hall meeting and office in Duluth and like to concept of teleconferences. All of these elements add to improved accessibility to our representative.
Congressman Cravaack support to industry will obviously lead to more jobs and state and local tax revenues collected, all of which add to a better quality of life for the people of NE MN. How can anyone not support this is beyond me. Let’s build on this early momentum and keep the ball rolling!

What a breath of fresh air. Out with the old, in with the new. Goodbye to stupidty and welcome to common sense ideas. Let’s get those loggers back to work , miners in Nashwauk back to work and Polymet up and running. Goodbye to eco-insanity and environmental wacko red tape. I hope I get on a tele-town hall! Thank you Chip!!

I didn’t vote for Mr. Cravaack, and will probably never vote for a Republican, but he is our duly elected Congressman for at least two years, and unlike Pat, I’m at least willing to give the man a chance before I chastise everything he does.

Crack is another Bush-Pawlenty clone willing to whore-out the environment over a generation of toxic dead end jobs. No educated person expects you GOPers to get it as you don’t even get that 9-11 was a government inside job. Sheeez! Get out of here and go waste your time with the other illiterates on the DCB!
Hot debate. What do you think?

You speak so negatively about anything or anyone not like you. Perhaps you should get off the boards and do the American opportunity and run for office ourself. Even if you win you will have people just like you standing up screaming weird stuff that makes no sense to the conversation at hand.
Then you can look in the mirror and say “Wow I sounded like that ?”
I’m sure many people would love to support your causes.

I think you meant “local Tea Partyers” and not “loca Tea Partiers”. When you are trying to prove that someone else is impersonating you on a dopey forum you should at least learn to spell. Some gnome needs spell check!
And for the record, whomever the person is that is trying to make you look bad by having the same (fairly common) first name as you…well, it ain’t me.

That a good one Merv. With Monopoly money? How about as soon as Obama ends the two wars we cannot afford to be in. And yes I know Bush started them.
How is the Obama working out for you lefties? It seems Oberstar can thank Obama for losing his job and now Pat, Tom, the Claires, and Merv all have BIG CHIPS on their little shoulders.

Yeah, its terrible.
A rising population
(2006 – 157,857)
(2009 – 165,322)
A diverse economy
A healthy Art and Theater establishment
Three colleges
etc.
The main difference, Pat, is that THEY have
JOBS for their citizens.

Don’t confuse the Progressive with facts ObamaNation.
My years of investigating Progressive fringe elements had lead to the conclusion that facts are meaningless to those that seek power and control.

Have to admire a man is doing the job he said he would.
Truly the biggest difference between him and Oberstar, Bike paths. Oberstar will find money for a ‘Bike path, but Sewers they aren’t sexy’

Hey, I just got on here and I was wondering. What happened to all the Liberal comments? They’re all hidden.
You dont suppose those crazy crazy conservative Emms had anything to do with this?

What are “emms”?
Anyway, I think my comments were hidden because some of you just can’t get enough of beating that dead horse. That, and, unlike many posters on here, I actually have to work for a living. I can’t just sit at home trolling on the computer and watching Faux News all day, like it seems some of you have the time to do.

“Cravaack said he’s working on introducing what could be his first legislation, a bill to allow logging trucks to add an extra axle and extra 10,000 pounds of weight on federal Interstate highways.”
By golly, that’s what I want to see! More overloaded log trucks on the freeway! But, of course, Cravaack doesn’t want to raise the tax on fuel so that we can afford to reapir the damage being done by these trucks to our roads. That might hurts b-b-b-b-b-b-business! Wonderful new world , brought to you by Chip and his puppet masters!

I am wondering when the real work will begin for Congressman Chip Cravaack also. I have emailed his office four (4) times since his election and as of today’s date, I have not received any response. I am wondering when he will begin on supporting and/or passing legislation to create jobs in our area. To meet behind closed doors for any purpose when you are an elected official is not acceptable, except if it should deal with national security. Mr. Cravaack is on the clock and he better get working if he expects to be in office in another two years.
