Rambo, I’m sure Hello was also whining and crying everytime the govenor vetoed the spending bills that came his way. If Dayton was in the last eight years the debt would be three times what it is now.

No one want to grab this deficit problem because it is political suicide. It is to bad that all the workers paying into Social Security know that they will not get anything back. This is really not right. They say they don’t know where to cut, they are not looking. I can list a few, 1. Reduce all Congress and President’s expense by 10%. 2. Stop the excessive spending in all federal buildings, New carpet and computers every six months, 3. Cut Corp of Engineers budget 10%, 4. Put the Social Security age at 70. 5.Park Air Force 1 other than emergency. These cuts would take care of the problem. They say Social Security will last until 2037? I would not be surprised to see it end any day. THERE IS NO MORE MONEY.

Social Security can’t go complete broke because the current workers that pay into it to pay for current beneficiaries. Part of the problem arises when we have more retired than working class people paying in and the benefits will go down. We could solve this by removing the $106,800 income cap and everyone pays the same percentage regardless of what they make.
I also agree that it should be off limits to Republican and Democrat spending when it has a surplus. That’s just idiocy. O_o

Off limits to the government, way too late for that. You’re not going to see surplus’s in the future either.

The retirement age is going to be increased substantially. I think the Social Security office will be based out of the local funeral home.
