Neither Gwen Johnson nor her fiancé Dane McCartney are big fans of wedding cake.
They used to joke that the prettier a cake looked, the worse it tasted.
So when they planned their Oct. 30 wedding reception at the Plains Art Museum, they decided to take the cake and leave it.

One thing missing from this article. Quality Bakery! They make hundreds of pies for F-M during the holidays. Can’t leave out the best bakery in town.

You did miss one of the best Pie Makers in town. 1st and Deli, right downtown Fargo, has some of the best deserts in town, including the pies. Shari Wise is the owner and her lemon pie is to die for, as is the rhubarb. You won’t go wrong with any of the deserts.
