Symbolic actions to appeal to the base, functionally useless legislation: Congress is back in session, so let the beatings commence!

And that’s the beginning and the end of the effort. The Senate won;t touch it, and the President would veto it.
And only 18% of Americans want it repealed outright.

boehner has his priorities all messed up!!! he should be thinking about his own health care and quit smoking so he can do his part to stop contributing to higher health care cost & premiums for the rest of us. i remember this conservative/teapartier/hater in his ignorance telling me how much the illegal immigrant is contributing to our high health care cost ( like the illegal is the only one hahaha) all the while he’s puffing away like he has for years. but this is expected because he hates the legal immigrant too. these two people are nothing but hypocrites in my book

I think he should get some psychological help first. He is a mess of emotions with his amount of crying. Maybe just needs a SSRI….clear some depression or other mental issues he may have. Very hard for someone to quit smoking without feeling good inside first. :0)

Perhaps with all the civility and bipartisanship our great president is proposing, he should encourage the senate to pass this Republican bill and then sign it into law. That would be the civil and bipartisan thing to do. We are of course living in a “post partisan” American now right? Oh right, I forgot; bipartisan means rolling over to the left, not the right. Silly me.

If there had really been “rolling over to the left” the health care bill would have had, at the least, a public option.

All we need to do to solve this is require proof of ability to pay before any care under any circumstance is administered.
Can’t pay? Go home.
Society and the free market will figure it out pretty quickly. Did I mention I have great insurance and can afford it?

Spot on Mac! The government could also hand out “mercy packets” in pill form to those who can’t take the pain any more and are deemed to costly to cover in terms of “quality-adjusted life years”. Oh.. That is already the plan? Neat!

The rethuglicans are off to a good start! Instead of doing nothing, like usual, they are doing something that leads to nothing.
