how about the teaparty???? Several Jewish groups are criticizing Sarah Palin’s use of the term “blood libel” in her video statement on the Arizona shootings. The phrase traditionally refers to false anti-Semitic myths about Jews using the blood of Christians, often children, in their rituals.

Maybe so, but Sarah Palin has taken a big hit with her integrity via the misguided decision to appear on a reality show with the “Octomom” (Nadya Suleman?)

And Simon Greer of the Jewish Funds for Justice declared:
“We are deeply disturbed by Fox News commentator Sarah Palin’s decision to characterize as a ‘blood libel’ the criticism directed at her following the terrorist attack in Tucson. The term ‘blood libel’ is not a synonym for ‘false accusation.’ It refers to a specific falsehood perpetuated by Christians about Jews for centuries, a falsehood that motivated a good deal of anti-Jewish violence and discrimination. Unless someone has been accusing Ms. Palin of killing Christian babies and making matzoh from their blood, her use of the term is totally out-of-line. [...]

Interesting that someone from Florida would even know that ND exists let alone has a synagogue. Then they use a term intended to create hate against a particular group. Does anyone know of any rich Republicans that may be vacationing in Florida. That will explain it.

just, you don’t seem upset that Palin was falsely blamed for the Arizona shooting. How…selective.
In this case you have Muslim jihadists threatening Jews and you manage to bring in and blame Palin. Wow, simply amazing what your brand of hate can do. You and the jihadists have a lot in common, blame everyone but the perpetrators.

And Simon Greer of the Jewish Funds for Justice declared: “Ms. Palin clearly took some time to reflect before putting out her statement today. Despite that time, her primary conclusion was that she is the victim and Rep. Giffords is the perpetrator. As a powerful rhetorical advocate for personal responsibility, Ms. Palin has failed to live up to her own standards with this statement.”

Mr Zardoz, you misread my comments. I said nothing about Ms Palin. The fact that the threat referenced jihad does not mean the sender was a Muslim extremist. Given the statements of conservatives these days it is almost certain that the note came from a conservative attempting to create hate amongst the residents. I don’t believe Palini sent this message. I do believe it came from a conservative, probably one that lives in Fargo, and that it was done as an ill-advised act. Regarding the Arizona shooting, conservatives are spending a considerable amount of time trying to spin the shooting into some type of liberal attempt at political gain and certain misguided followers are believing it or at least saying that they do. The facts are that conservatives talk about killing Democrats and Democrats are being killed. Shootings have occurred around the country for political reasons. One man who killed people in a southern church for being too liberal had books by Hannity and O’Reilly in his home. Limbaugh, Bachman, Palin, Sharron Angle, O’Reilly, Beck, John Dennis and others have all suggested murdering or killing Democrats. Do they have any culpability in the killings? It seems Ms Palin believes that public opinion is not swinging in her favor given her statement earlier today. Conservative pundits are using every minute of their programs defending themselves and saying the Democrats are the bad people. Republicans are always talking about killing Democrats. Democrats almost never talk about killing anyone. Now you may say that the constitutional guarantees of free speech protect these people. I agree. But one has to take responsibility for what they say. If you yell “fire†in a crowded theater when there is no fire and in the panic of getting out of the theater some people are trampled to death, have you exercised your right to free speech? Yes you have. Are you responsible for the deaths of the people? Conventional wisdom would say that they are. It is very telling that none of conservative leaders have come out condemning the divisive language that incites vulnerable people to commit acts they might not otherwise have committed. Good leaders show a sense of responsibility. They don’t defend actions that result in the taking of innocent lives. Your Ms Palin’s shtick is using inflammatory language with every speech she makes. She tries to back pedal away from this misjudgment but she has repeated the same words to often and they have been recorded. The genie is out of the bottle. I feel sorry for Ms Palin and the others that they feel that people with whom they disagree must be murdered. Historians more and more draw parallels between these conservative and their tactics to the Nazi party of the 30’s. Remember, it is my free speech right to say this and I can easily provide to you those comparisons. I think more moderate Republicans are cringing at what Palin, Bachman and others are saying but are afraid to do anything. That is especially for Mr Beemer, the new leader. He cries when he talks. He is not a man that can stand up to Palin and Bachman. I am surprised the Republicans choose them as their leader.

WOW!!!! i didn’t realize this was going on. shame on this racist and gun seller. note: i’m a strong proponent of the 2nd amendment mainly to protect me from the likes of wilson. WOW (again)!!!!
