I’m all for nice amenities for our community. However, to throw more money at expanding the existing dog park seems a bit fanciful in my opinion. We live in a region where binge-drinking and underage drinking are epidemic problems (not to mention other issues facing our youth). There are not enough activities for young people in this town (beyond extracurricular activities and sports). Let’s not throw more money away to dogs instead of investing into our youth. I can’t help but wonder if the lack of fun activities is perhaps one of the significant reasons why we see our young people flee the city/state as soon as they have the opportunity. What about taking that money and investing it into the frisbee golf courses. Or how about using those funds to attract new business that will offer more activities for young people, like an indoor mini-golf course, indoor go-cart track, indoor paintball, etc.
