The court system will plea bargain this to some nonsense charge and he’ll be free to do it again and again. Seems his behavior is getting more violent. Who will be his next victim, me, you, your kids?
Worthington, you’ll come to love us!
this is economic improvement fund results. Lots more coming. The new convention center will be employing 50 people at the fine wage of $8.00 to $9.00 per hour and 20 to 32 hours a week. That will certainly attract professional upstanding citizens who will be an asset to the community. We will get some new construction projects also. Need to build income adjusted housing so they have a place to live. It is rare that a local company gets the work, mostly out of towners. Simply said: If all you have in a community is low quality jobs, then you will get lots of low quality people!!!!!!! Those of us who care have already moved away and those that are left are looking for a new town to live in right now.
Your comment is not at all related to the story topic. I gather you have moved away, since you say you “care”. This would not be a great loss to the community. But you’re still interested enough in what’s happening in Worthington to continue to read the paper and post mostly critical / negative comments on the goings-on. To say that “those that are left are looking for a new town to live in” is nonsense. So many bloggers here insist on painting everyone with the same broad brush. I see this young man as an individual who has a substance abuse problem and needs more help. I hope he gets it.
Beans.. You hit the nail on the head there! Excellent post! I can only envy those that have left. I’m still looking to leave and definitely will get the job done. I’m sure some will wish me good riddance or leave me red checks, which bothers me not. I can only wish this once clean town and the leaders that have allowed it to be decimated, good riddance and leave them to wallow in their mess, as evidenced by this fellow. As sad as it is!
Sounds like community service and probation to me for Nobles/Kandiyohi county behavior. Lived in both and can not believe how both have went to you know where. Unbelievable what the “minority” community is able to get away with in theses communities. Reading the Daily Globe is just like reading the West Central Tribune. It is nice living in a community now where people value property and respect one another.
I doubt your community is without its socio-economic problems. There is NO perfect place to live. If there were, we’d all have moved there… and it wouldn’t be perfect any longer!
“According to the Lexington Institute, the United States economy loses $65 billion every year due to the lack of fluency in English of immigrants. Canada fares just as poorly. Some 46% of immigrants surveyed in the late nineties were found unable to converse in either of the two Official languages. Fluency in the mainstream language is a critical job skill, but one alarmingly lacking in both countries. The consequence is not only cultural fragmentation but a fiscal burden of immense proportions. $200 billion in America each year and more than $18 billion annually in Canada.
“Mass immigration apologists argue that the answer is more money allocated to ESL programs, not a cut back in immigration. At the same time, however, they typically advocate on behalf of those ethnic lobbies that fight for official language status for their native tongue. Bilingual education is thought to be both politically pragmatic and advantageous to students. But research indicates otherwise.
I don’t know where you guys get all your information. Perhaps you are psychic??? Do you know him personally??? I see nothing in the story that talks about his parents’ immigration status, whatajoke. I’m not going to waste time looking at myriad youtube links. And, Ralo, if he is NOT in the country illegally (whatajoke uses the xenophobic term “anchor baby”), then he can’t be deported! I know it’s asking the impossible, but please try to not paint all people with the same broad brush. It’s foolish. It’s racist. It’s ignorant. It serves no purpose.
Must run in the family then. If there is a pattern in one family it is not a race issue. So I would guess eastender agrees that everyone in that family should get help? No problem there right. Must be societies fault and we need to give these people a break? Oy Vay…

Also eastender, prior to your comment there was only one youtube video, not a myriad as you suggest. Do you know what myriad means? Here let me help you gain some knowledge on that.

a very great or indefinitely great number of persons or things.
It would seem that this family has a myriad of issues though. But as you would say in a more politically insensate way ( socio-economic ) involving both economic and social factors. Are you serious? Told you you always blame it on society. How about taking responsibility for your social actions? Whatever happened to that?
I know what “myriad” means, and if you look at your recent postings you’ll see a “very great number” of youtube attachments in your comments, along with myriad other links to other websites. If you – or any other bloggers – care to review whatajoke’s previous comments to prove my point, here they are:
And, by the way, when correctly used, one does not have “a myriad of” issues… one has “myriad issues”. And I don’t need myriad posts to make my point, unlike some people. And your use of ‘insensate’ makes no sense in the above context, either. Definition:

1. Lacking physical sensation.
2. Lacking sympathy or compassion; unfeeling
I keep it civil, stay on topic, and don’t make personal attacks, nor do I harass others. Not everyone can -if they’re honest – say the same.
You keep it civil? Are you serious? Here is one of many of your uncivil posts! No personal attack here right? You also FAIL to address what was really posted as you have no response. By the way the word insensate has other meanings. Not just yours. And I did not harass you. I am on topic, just not what you want to hear. I guess if you don’t like it, you claim racist and not civil. Typical.
Lacking sensibility; unfeeling:

a. Lacking sense or the power to reason.
b. Foolish; witless.

Why drag out 4-year old data to tell us something that most of us already knew? This has nothing to do with a story about a young, underage man with a substance abuse problem – which, if you recall, is what we were to be commenting on.
