As lawmakers from Minnesota and North Dakota convene this week for their respective legislative sessions, they will walk into far different circumstances.

North Dakota should sucede from the U.S. and issue its own commodity backed currency. It has no gold or silver minning so it would have to go with oil, coal, and food. The good ship USS Dollar is listing badly and will go under the waves. ND’s $1 billion surplus will be worthless. Minnesota will go the way of the Metrodome as will the rest of the country.

I’m with you Michael. Our government is going to destroy the dollar with its crazy spending. It’s not fringe thinking anymore. Most rank and file economists are expressing these concerns as well. The only one not expressing his concern yet is Paul Krugman. I watched Face the Nation on CBS and Fox Sunday and was deeply depressed. On Face the Nation, the republicans and democrats only argued who was worse. On Fox Sunday, Darryl Issa only talked platitudes “of a little here a little there and your talking big savings.” Haha! Yeah right! We are going broke…

I can invest my own money. I can’t afford any more “help” from the clowns in Bismarck.
The ND Leg will probably just sit on the money some more and not do anything with it.
