The public land that Hubbard county enjoys is a gem and an asset as opposed to the burden this article portrays. It is also incorrect to imply that the county and townships receive no revenue, as payment in lieu of taxes number in the hundreds of thousands of dollars each year and provide monies to general revenue, townships, school districts etc. Also these lands are managed to produce timber and recreational opportunities which provides more income as well as all the hunters, snowmobilers and on and on that come here and spend money precisely because of the public lands that we have for EVERYONE to enjoy.
