Medicaid dental coverage one big irritating toothache

Believe it or not there is a word even scarier than the phrase “drill baby drill” when talking about dental care. That word is Medicaid. Continue Reading

This is absolutely disgusting for me to read. Ive had insurance until my divorce when my exhusband was supposed to pay for it, and has yet to do so. I have tried NUMEROUS times to be seen by a dental professional, not only in Dix, but also in Bismarck, and the MINUTE they ask me about insurance and find out I was on medicaid, declined me. The sad part about all of it, is that I have a medical condition that is causing my teeth to deteriorate at a rapid rate. And since the dentists around here not only are not taking new “medicaid patients”, but are not taking new patients period, the emergency room in Dickinson is having to pick up their slack. I am now accumulating more debt from having to go to the E.R. b/c of my teeth. This is not fair to the E.R. doctors. On top of that, when I have made it in for an occasional “emergency dental appt” at a random dental office, since I am not a “regular client” my options are limited to pretty much having my teeth pulled or dealing with it. Its not the dentists fault for the most part, but they know first hand what ND Medicaid is pulling on them, and they should be sticking up for us.
