Only in ND, would number one be #1. This must be extremely embarrassing to the family and the individuals involved. Making fun of someone’s name is a not so subtle form of bullying.

If I recall correctly, the couple actually enjoyed the attention and even gave an interview to the Forum about how funny they thought it was. So, I don’t think any feelings were hurt.

It has nothing to do with ‘Only in ND’, it has to do with the internet. Do a quick Google search of Wang-DeCock and see how far that spread.

The Wang-DeCock thing would have been very funny in the 6th or 7th grade locker room, but with adults? C’mon folks.

Proof positive that a significant number of people (Forum editors among them) have not reached maturity. I admit it is funny, but when you have a people that glosses over immigrants rioting and elevates a wedding announcement to cult status, something is wrong.

That people should read paper. Typing faster than proofreading unfortunately.

The immigrant riot (Sunset Lanes) story got a ton of coverage. It was a bad event and was reported by the Forum.

OMG how did I miss this the first time around? Haha
This brought so much joy to my day. Thank you Tara and Austin

I was wondering why someone’s engagement would be a top story! That’s it? The coincidental humor of it?! How disappointing.

I guess I don’t get it. You are upset about the Lettermen Top 10 list, but then you bring up the Wang-DeCock story again. Another case at the Forum of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. Instead of worrying about North Dakota/Minnesota image work on yours.

What were they supposed to do? The fact is that the engagement story went viral and lots of people outside of the F/M area clicked the link to view the story, thus it was the most viewed article. Would you rather have the Forum lie and ignore that artice?

The point is that this engagement was the number one news story. Given all of what has happened during the year it speaks not well of the community when this type of story is considered news and the top news story as well. Often conservative speak of people need to get their priorities straight and this becomes a top story. This is childish and in poor taste. It is becoming what I can expect from people who claim to be religiously and morally superior to the rest of the country.
