I agree, Breezy. When it comes down to a 70 year old woman trying to rob a bank with a hammer, just to pay her rent, it does make you think. Just what the heck is this country coming to?
It’s obvious as can be that she figured that when she got caught, she’s at least have a roof over her head, albeit jail.
It says a LOT for the state of our country, doesn’t it?

It also makes me wonder about whether or not she has family that could be helping her with expenses, housing, etc…

The article certainly doesn’t mention any family. In most cases they would, I’d think.
Sounds like just another elderly lady with no where else to turn, doesn’t it. You have to consider, that there are a lot of people out here that don’t have any family to turn to.
Also, the pride factor comes into play with a lot of people.
