1st District DFL Rep. Tim Walz took to the U.S. House floor yesterday to lend his support for lifting the military’s ban on gays serving in the military known as “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” You can watch video of the speech here.
During his one minute speech he said that “I have no doubt that the brave men and women who serve our country have the professionalism to end this discriminatory policy. I am offended by the idea and the notion that they are not able to handle change in policy.”
Walz went on to argue that he believes the ban hurts America’s military.
“This discriminatory policy is hurting our military readiness and weakining our nation such as releasing dozens of Arabic linguists simply because they were homosexual. Serving in the military we believe in duty, honor and country and asking these brave people to lie goes against all of our values,” he said.
This will bide well with the Terrorists!! Maybe thats what the Democrats want?
What do you think will happen? Nothing? Might as well vote to burn the Qua ran at a White House ceremony!!!
The following passages are taken from the Abdullah Yusuf Ali translation of the Qur’an.
“We also sent Lut: He said to his people: Do ye commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you? For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds. And his people gave no answer but this: they said, “Drive them out of your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!”" (Qur’an 7:80-82)
But hey it’s politically correct Waltz right? He also supported eliminating Christmas in schools and freezing MILITARY pay!!!

Walz also supported the trillion dollar PORK spending bill, which reduced military funding but spent money on stupid crap! Go dumbed down if you want and ignore facts, but hey vote party lines only? Smart!! Oh also he voted with Obama to reduce FARM subsidies in a hidden vote!!! Google it or look at his votes!
All Americans should be on their knees thanking the tea party. While progressives are busy brainwashing dumb sheep into disliking tea partiers, most intelligent Americans support them.
WASHINGTON, DC- Congressional leaders gave taxpayers an early Christmas present Thursday when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid yielded to tremendous Tea Party opposition and shelved the pork-stuffed $1.3 trillion spending bill he had tried to ram through the lame-duck Congress.
“The death of this massive spending bill is a major victory for the Tea Party and all Americans concerned with the reckless expansion of Big Government,†said Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks. “Congress could not ignore the sweeping rejection of out-of-control spending in the 2010 midterm elections by sneaking this spending binge through the lame-duck session.â€
The bill had measured at almost 2,000 pages long, and would have cost taxpayers an estimated $575.13 million per page. Several Senate Republicans had indicated they would support the bill, but FreedomWorks alerted and mobilized its grassroots members, who overwhelmingly opposed the wasteful spending. The outpouring of disapproval convinced many of those senators to side with principle over pork and withdraw their support of the measure.
The gargantuan bill was peppered with $8 billion in earmarks and pet projects, including:
$522,000 for cranberry and blueberry disease and breeding in New Jersey
$500,000 for oyster safety in Florida
$413,000 for peanut research in Alabama
$247,000 for virus-free wine grapes in Washington
$208,000 for beaver management in North Carolina
$300,000 for the Polynesian Voyaging Society in Hawaii
We applaud Sen. Reid for acknowledging the voice of the American people and shelving this bill until after the Christmas break, when senators will have more time to ensure that the spending bill will reflect the small-government values Americans are demanding from our leaders,†Kibbe said. “We’re calling on all our senators and representatives, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, to commit to a 100 percent pork-free spending bill in 2011.
The people sent a message loud and clear to Congress this year: We are sick and tired of business as usual in Washington. We are watching and we’re not going away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Timothy J. Walz sponsored or co-sponsored 13 earmarks totalling $9,712,400 in fiscal year 2010

Want more about this liar?
Tim Walz was elected to Congress in 2006, with a great story of being inspired to run after being turned away at a President Bush campaign event in Mankato. I left for Iraq in early 2006 and was then a resident of Carver County in the 2nd Congressional District, so I didn’t pay much attention to his election. But when I returned from Iraq and became a resident of Owatonna, I found myself curious about my new Congressman. Looking at his website, I saw that he was a National Guard veteran like me, who ‘served with his battalion in support of Operation Enduring Freedom’. Operation Enduring Freedom is the name of the US military operation in Afghanistan, so I was thrilled to learn I was being represented by a combat vet. Tim Walz is a retired Command Sergeant Major from the Minnesota National Guard, so I thought I had left one congressional district represented by a veteran (John Kline, USMC retired) and moved to a new one represented by a veteran.
It took me about two months to realize that Congressman Walz, contrary to the statement on his official congressional website, did not serve in Afghanistan. He served in Italy, in charge of base security.
Go to the link for the whole story.
Walz deserves credit for having served in the National Guard at all. That service alone is a credit to his character. But embellishing a service record, and claiming honor for combat service you didn’t actually render, is about as bad as lying about being in the military in the first place.
Tim Walz is misleading us about his military service. As Minnesota military reservists who have served in Iraq, we are disappointed. We don’t criticize his service. To our knowledge, he served honorably. But through artful omission, Walz is leaving the impression that he served in the combat zones of the current conflict.
The truth is that he served in Italy. There is a significant difference between Walz’ garrison service in Italy and the extreme danger young men and women are facing in the combat zones of Iraq and Afghanistan. But even more disturbing is the fact that Walz quickly retired after learning that his unit —southern Minnesota’s 1-125 FA Battalion — would be sent to Iraq. For Tim Walz to misleadingly give the impression that he served in a combat zone is bad enough. For Tim Walz to abandon his fellow soldiers and quit when they needed experienced leadership most is disheartening. It dishonors those brave American men and women who did answer their nation’s call and who continue to serve, fight and unfortunately die in harm’s way for us.
