The number of jobs in the larger Twin Ports area typically drops in November, but more jobs than usual were lost last month.

OK you liberals here comes the drop on the economic stimulus that any educated person could have told you. When the construction ends so do the jobs, was that really a surprise??!! The money should have been invested in long term manufacturing, and education. We should have been encouraging companies to make USA made products again and busted unions for high labor charges. Most people really only have that to blame. Every American feels entitled to a $20 an hour job no matter what they are doing so the companies took their jobs overseas. We should be bringing them back!!!!

Right on t.k.: The Federal Stimulus package has been spent on what amounts to nothing more than “temp” jobs. Jobs that could be implemented fast to make Hussein look good by slowing overall job losses were all the materialized. Jobs such as construction (measured in months) jobs measured in education and public safety (1 year term unless the local voters pick up the tab). Now we are seeing the first of those stimulus jobs end and reality can start to set in: “temp” jobs, at best, were all that were created. God, are Husseins supporters ignorant and gullible!!!
Hows the trickle down economics working for you? If we gave it all to business, we still wouldnt have crap to show for it. At least Construction jobs get my road got blacktopped instead of some rich as@hole buying a new Porsche. We definitely need investment in manufacturing and a drop in union influence but for 30 years we’ve given the money to the rich people and how has that worked out for us. NEGATIVE JOB GROWTH AND HIGH DEFICITS. Trickle Down is a Republican idea so i’m looking forward on how you try to blame the Democrats for that.
Here is the explanation you are looking for: Republicans believe in GOD, hard work, taking risks and having those risks pay off, and providing for their family. Democrats believe that we are an equal religion country where Easter is no longer considered a “christian holiday” but is to be shared by all, letting other people bust their rears and then create a socialistic program to take from it, avoid the risk join a union and take your hard earned dollar, and again rely on other people to provide for their family. Want to disagree, look at all the socialistic programs available in Minnesota especially right here in Duluth, and google your friend Obama and his views on religion. A proud American would never vote for that!!
I believe in God,his only son Jesus, Hard work and paying my own way.But i’m a Democrat. I work, i pay taxes and provide for my family.I am not a fan of hand outs for dead beats who do nothing for society. But since you lump me in with those dead beats, i’ll gladly do the same for you. Republicans(and you) are nothing but a bunch of power hungry, Greedy, gun toting, religious nut jobs who dont give a crap if they screw up the planet for the next generation as long as they make a load of money. See how intelligent you sound. We’re all Americans but if i agreed with your point of view, we’d both be wrong.
Actually the “trickle down economics” worked fairly well for me, thank you. Husseins stimulus fiasco may have paved your street (which typically has a projected life span of 20 years before needing replacement again) but to get your street paved, you have mortgaged the future of your kids and grandkids who will be paying their entire lives for your little stretch of new pavement. What I was saying is the stimulus fiasco has little lasting benefit (as real job creation would have done) but has incurred ridiculously excessive costs to our society. The benefit to cost ratio is way out of wack. And remember…the Dems were in control of the fed government for over 10 years before the stimulus package was crafted, so YES the Dems surely played a huge part in that fiscal fiasco. I hope all your decendants appreciate paying for your little, short-lived street.
In the “trickle down” metaphor, how do you think “it” gets up there to begin with?
t.k. I am a Democrat and I dont believe in most of the crap you just said. The only thing you said that I believe in is keeping god out of our laws and government. I dont like unions, and I dont like the fact that my hard earned money is going to people who are to lazy to get off their a@#’s and get a job. It is people like you that want to lump everybody into little boxes and not work with anybody who has a different lable then yourself. It is thinking like yours that keeps our government in grid lock and nothing productive done. I dont care if you are red, blue, green, or orange if you have a good idea I am going to listen and if I dont agree with your idea we will debate it and through that debate the best possible answer will come out. And I am a proud American and I will vote against religion everytime!!!! Last time I checked I didnt have to believe in your god to be an American
I ment to hit reply on t.k. sorry David I agree with your statement
****David I agree with your statement****
Kevin, what keeps you being a democrat?
I consider myself more moderate then anything, but push comes to shove I would say I am a Democrat. I have conservative tendencies when it comes to economic issues however I am liberal when it comes to most social issues. I don’t believe you can legislate morality and the Republican Party tries to do that and those issues for me are more important then economic issues because I believe no matter what the economic climate is if I work hard and bust my a@# I can overcome the economic enviroment and succeed
I admire your attitude. I honestly do.
****I believe no matter what the economic climate is if I work hard and bust my a@# I can overcome the economic environment and succeed***
But I’m afraid you are too optimistic. If we don’t make a U turn on spending, taxing, and regulations like right now, you will be working your A@# off just to get enough to eat. I’m totally serious about that.
As a Democrat I wouldn’t expect you to agree with me!!!!
Kevin, I’m sincerely confused. What did we disagree about?
