Kudos to bakeries who are stepping back to good old ‘homemade’ bread styles. Anyone who has been to Europe, Especially France or Italy, knows the Wonder of truly Fresh Daily Artisan bread with the chewy crust and great interior Crumb. It is Worth it to go out of your way to avoid all the preservatives! We have a Great One in Superior too, but I’m not saying the name. As it is I can barely get there in time to get the Bread of the Day!
A loaf of bread, some natural Sargento Cheese…..a Good Sausage…… maybe a glass of wine? I’m good for two days

After reading about the bakery in a Duluth publication two or three years ago, we stopped at the bakery on our annual trip to Duluth from Maine. For someone not familiar with Ashland’s streets, finding it was a bit of a challenge, as was finding parking. All that was forgotten once inside. Just a couple of hours from Duluth, we could buy what we wanted and not worry about it staying fresh. Which was the problem. We wanted about everything. We managed to pare down, vowed to hold off eating anything until we got to Duluth, a vow that was broken at the swimming park just outside Ashland. Just wanted to thank the owners for a marvelous experience, one we’ll continue to enjoy each year.
