Sanford Health is in the midst of hiring 130 new employees to carry out a new electronic medical records system that will inject $35 million into the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Wow, maybe they aren’t just Meritcare reincarnated. The medical records idea sounds really good, and I hope it works. Now if they can just do something about their billing practices. I don’t need a separate bill for every member of my family, nor do I need separate bills for each doctor visit. I also don’t see why I have to receive separate billings, one each from the clinic and from the hospital, when I have a procedure done. It’s a nightmare to juggle all these things. I don’t see why they can’t consolidate this stuff; you’d think it would save them money!

This will help redundancy and costs associated with healthcare. Please pass the savings on to the patients not the CEO.

Good for now, but with consolidation (i.e. mergers) comes loss of jobs.
