Crafting bullying policy: Committee researches other policies in work for JPS

An appointed bullying policy committee for the Jamestown Public School Board is looking for ideas from Fargo to as far away as Broward County, Florida, in crafting the district’s policy on the hot-button issue.

I am so glad this is finally happening, I just wish it was not at the expense of the mom who fought for it. My hat is off to you Margo Haut without you there would not be a revised bulling policy, You fought before Jamestown Public School Board with a pure heart. Please keep fighting for our children!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, this is great. Let’s just create a committee for everything. Was there really a bullying problem in our schools? No, there wasn’t. Someone (Haut) took a “problem” and made it worse than it already was. Why not just go to the school and check out the situation among the students? The school board should be ashamed that they have no spine to deal with conflict and they should probably start limiting the time people can speak at board meetings to reduce this nonsense. I think the real problem is some of these parents. You expect tv, the internet, and cell phones to raise your kids and then when there’s a problem, it’s always someone else’s fault. Get a mirror, you’ll see the problem.

I agree with Michael W. this is blown way out of proportion. When I went JHS most of the bullying was done by the teachers.

“antipalin” may agree with me, but do not stray from the issue at hand. There is NOT a widespread bullying problem at JHS or in any school in town. Margo Haut wanted something, but nobody knew what she wanted. She lied, insulted, and demanded outrageous things. The school board members are the ones who are showing incompetence here and they should be called out on it. Contact them and tell them to do their job and stop allowing this to come up. It’s a fabricated problem and it needs to be thrown out with the rest of the trash.

Again MW get educated your commenting on thing you know nothing about, you obviously do not know the whole story, just the one your being told. You will find out your on the wrong side of this. But I do agree the school board needs a back bone, they are only going with what they are being told also. Margo’s truth will come out!

If Margo Haut wants her truth out, why isn’t it out? Why isn’t she saying anything? What’s stopping her? Help me out, “dutch”, what’s the deal? I don’t get your negativity. If someone wants to say something, then say it. If we don’t know the whole story, why the heck would be sympathetic to the story? There’s no reason for it. If she had any brains, she’d say something. Last I checked, she could still talk.
