Have to laugh at this article. My wife has carried a wallet and only a wallet in her pocket for the past 40+ years. Since she doesn’t need or wear makeup, none of the usual female accoutrements are carried. When cell phones arrived, it went in a carrier on her belt or in the pocket of a jacket. She does carry one of those waist pouches on longer trips for her passport, and a digital camera. My daughters have copied her example so all the women in our family travel light . For those that have to live with a women who carries a suitcase on her arm or shoulder, my condolences.

Everyone who teases me about my excess has, at one point or another, needed something I carry in my “suitcase”. In fact, “Can you put this in your purse or something?” is an oft-heard request.
