OUR OPINION: Fellow hurdlers, be thankful for the hurdles

Today across the U.S., Americans by the millions will give thanks for their blessings. But here’s one blessing that’s likely to be overlooked:
Give thanks for the challenges that you’ve had to overcome and for the many more that await you in the months and years ahead. Continue Reading

Yeah…okay… since the rich elite are determined to make us Mexico, I say the challenge is how to stop the rich elite, the one percent of Americans from transforming us into the new Mexico.
“A small leak can sink a great ship.” Ben Franklin
“Religion is what keeps the poor from murdering the rich.” Napoleon Bonaparte
It just so happens 90% of Americans believe in religion.
I think I’ll move to Sweden where 80% percent of the people are atheist. And the standard of living for EVERYONE in Sweden is the highest in the world.

formian, I am guessing that 90%, or more, of Americans would agree that eating nutritious foods in moderation and getting plenty of exercise is a good thing. They “believe” in practicing good health habits. Yet obesity, heart disease, and all sorts of diseases that are likely caused by poor nutrition and lack of exercise are ballooning. So, is good nutrition and exercise to blame? Or…is it rather man’s propensity for failing to do what he knows is really best?

I agree with formian. Scandinavia is the model we need to follow. Chemical pollution is the cause of many adult onset diseases resulting from fetal and childhood consumption of 1000s of unregulated chemicals in our food chain. BPA in product containers is the biggest endoctrine disrupting factor. We have an industrial system that has bought our Congress to avoid regulation. Our founding fathers would roll over in their graves if they could see what we have become. We don’t have as much to be thankful for as we like to believe.
