Opponents of allowing a soon-to-be-opened convenience store to potentially sell beer now have a deadline if they want to put the issue to a vote.
Mitchell Finance Officer Marilyn Wilson said Tuesday that petitions to force a public vote on the issue have to be submitted by 5 p.m. Dec. 14. The issue is the City Council’s decision to change the zoning for the store at the corner of Foster Street and East First Avenue.
