Emmer wants all votes counted

Says when to end contest ‘is my call’
ST. PAUL Tom Emmer does not plan to exercise his option to cancel a statewide governor’s race recount, which will continue the race until at least Dec. 14. Continue Reading

I’m not sure why the Republican or Democratic party would be involved. The race outcome was within the percentage to require an automatic recount. Have the recount, get it over with honestly, and get on with life. Dayton and Emmer are both honorable people and should be the ones to decide when it is over, not a bunch of party hacks.

Alas, in a perfect it would be so.
Unfortunately “the party hacks†have had their hands all over this election from day one.
I see in one report the number of people signing the voters register was 900 and the number of ballots counted were 930. It was in a twin cities suburb’s precinct if I recall correctly. There are about 4,000 precincts in the state. An average of 2 extra ballots in each would be 8,000 votes.
This will still be going 3 months from now I would venture.

I suppose Dayton would want all the votes counted too.

Zorro, I agree with you. As I said previously, both of them are honorable people and should be able to make the decision without party influence.
