Well it’s also costly to not have any decent businesses in West Fargo. The city needs the sales tax bucks.

your kidding, right? West Fargo gets all the sales taxes west of interstate, that includes West Acres.

Yes I know that and NO I’m not kidding. Why should people in West Fargo go shopping in downtown Fargo when we could have some small shops in West Fargo downtown? Think of all the events they have in the summer where they close the streets and have vendors etc. city could make some bucks off of that.

Unfortunately mgraalum, you are wrong.
West Fargo gets no SALES TAXES from West Acres or any other area within Fargo city limits.
The West Fargo School District does have some area within Fargo city limits, including West Acres, and the West Fargo School District does receive SCHOOL DISTRICT TAXES from those areas.
If you do not understand the difference, please let me know.

Why??? How?? As of this point there really isn’t anything they can do to West Fargo because its to close to the main Fargo shopping hub. I don’t even understand why this is under consideration…

West fargo has an absolutely huge potential for building up an exciting, thriving and vibrant downtown urban core…I’ve often wondered why they’ve been putting this off.

LOL well they at least have potential to have bigger farmers markets than Fargo and maybe some street fair events to make some money.
