GS, you really should talk to someone about your gay obsession. This article is about awareness of genetically modified life forms, and whether a religious organization should acknowledge that this could be a topic of greater interest in the future.

I think Shepard makes a good point. And besides, the ELCA is ran by a bunch of fruitcakes (no pun intended).

OMG when I heard about this I had to chuckle. What on Earth does a Lutheran bishop, or any bishop for that matter, know about this? To make a religious argument about genetically modified seed is ludicrous. The guy needs a hobby. Did he ever stop to think that by genetic modification, these seeds may grow in places they couldn’t before, thereby feeding lots of starving people who might otherwise die?!

One religious congregation over reacts by misinterpreting a document written by the church. Gee, that’s not a first.

The ELCA is doomed anyway. Luther would not be pleased. Sodomy good, but seeds bad…c’mon.

Wheee another Congregration that really spends their time on real important matters! Wow how impressive :p If I ever attend a Church that’s EVER in the news for any current affairs topic more than charity work God help me.
