MOUNT VERNON Rural Mount Vernon mail carrier Alan Greenway does not consider himself a hero, but that is how Carol Duesterhoft described him after the events of Sept. 17.
Duesterhoft, 68, was walking her dog outside her rural Mount Vernon home around 1 p.m. when she stepped into a hole and fell, breaking her arm.
