Thanks to global warming, we should have 60 degree weather all winter. Of course global warming is a hoax, so get ready.

I remember when i was young and the old timers judged the winter like this. They were right way more than the weather service.

How interesting to see haruspicy (divination using animal entrails) still being used today. I always find these types of articles quite amazing to read. I like to know how big and wide the pig spleen has to be, in order to figure out the weather. Hmmm

I have a Native friend that told me his signs indicated a long, cold winter. When I asked him what his signs were, he said that the white man was cutting a lot of firewood.

If the jack rabbits turn white early in the Fall, it will be a tough Winter, if they stay brown we will have a easy Winter. Bet on it.

All winters here are long and bitterly cold. “Nice winter” is an oxymoron.

If you keep predicting it will get cold and snow long enough in ND, you’ll be right eventually.
I do believe the old-timers have their ways, though, just by staying in touch with the land. Grandpa’s neighbor went by muskrat houses down on the sloughs by the lake. The bigger and thicker they were built, the worse the coming winter would be.
