MINNEAPOLIS With even some Minnesota Republicans doubting they can win the governor’s race by recount, the central question of the unsettled election could soon become whether the GOP can sue its way to victory. Continue Reading

The legal issues in the 2008 Coleman and Franken fiasco arose as a result of the re-count process.
It would seem that all the Republicans have to do is demand that one “spoiled†ballot be counted, even if it is on the shakiest of grounds. When that request is denied, it’s lawsuit time.
There is a lot to be gained by the Republicans in an extended recount process, and they would be stupid not to avail themselves of the opportunity. If the situation were reversed, I am sure the Democrats would do the same thing.
I’m not saying it’s right. I’m saying that it is a political reality. Mark my words, there will be a legal challenge when the recount goes in Dayton’s favor.

When you have a secretary of state like Ritchie, who feels cheating is a democrat party birthright you have to sue in the hopes of getting an honest count. Of course the MN courts are filled with liberal judges so one can’t expect fair treatment there either.

Mr. Marty, remember the electorate re-elected Mr. Ritchie so appears they have conficence in the office. Regarding the Colemen/Franken recount, were not the judges involved nearly all appointed by Republicans or independent Governor Ventura? How is it that Republican appointed judges would not find in favor of their own if they could? Do the Democrats have such control over the Republican judges or is your comment mostly, what we call, sour dates?
