What kind of jobs? High wage or low wage?
The Pioneer Press is reporting:
A troubling sign was the big decline in relatively high-paying professional jobs. The state lost 4,000 jobs in a sector called business services, which includes jobs at architectural, legal and engineering companies, to name a few. Government shed 3,800 jobs, and restaurants and hotels saw 3,500 jobs cut.
The losses were “a disappointment and a surprise,” said Steve Hine, the state’s director of labor market information. But, he noted, September is a difficult month due to seasonal variations that can affect the numbers.
