Bada Bing strip club building fails inspections, declared unsafe
October 21, 2010 at 7:00 pm in INFORUM
Five days after Bada Bing strip club opened on the outskirts of Fargo, city inspectors say the building isn’t in decent enough shape for indecent exposure. Continue Reading

The owner is an IDIOT! You can’t just one day have an idea and open a “strip club” the next. You have to have any building inspected prior to opening. Hell I worked at a daycare during building and set up of the center. The child care licenser wouldn’t even come out till the building passed all inspections. We had to push back the opening due to the fact something was wrong with the sprinkler/fire system that we were told right there and then what it was so it was fixed 2 days later and passed inspection a few days after that.

If preventing something like the Station night club fire (or the Coconut Grove fire for you history buffs) means being a little “anti business”, I’ll take that trade. How harmful could the rules with which he failed to comply even be for business? There are successful bars and clubs all over town that comply with these rules.
I don’t blame the owner for his strategy of trying to fly under the radar in order to prevent an uproar before he even opens. This just seems to be a rookie mistake by a novice business owner. I would assume he just didn’t realize that being in Fargo’s ET zone made him subject to Fargo’s codes. He wanted to keep the fewest people “in the know” about his intended opening as possible, but he didn’t realize that that list needed to include the Inspections Department

You can guarantee if there was a fire, all we would hear was “Why weren’t they up to code? Who’s the idiot in the city that let this happen?”

For sure its a rookie mistake. If he’s serious about having this place, he’ll be able to get it back up in no time. And if the city is actually being honest, and not just targeting, then they will waste zero time getting him a detailed list of things that need updating. I mean not having exit signs? Come on, its a barn. That will take 15 minutes.
This place isn’t done yet.

Funnny, Funny, Funny! Nothing against strip clubs, but that place appears to be in a class of its own. My advice for owner, go back to roofing. I would be very surprised to find the business operating a year down the road. Bada Bing Bada Boo!

What a pathetic picture put out by the FORUM, they have shown their feelings about this by showing beer cans – they want this place shut down. I live by 3 bars and at times there are beer cans on my sidewalk, is that the fault of those bars. There is sometimes food on the street by my local McDonalds and Sunmart, is that the fault of those stores, there are dead squirrels and cats by the local vet, is that their fault, NO but the FORUM is trying to inject that alcohol is prevelant at this place in an effort to get it shut down. Where is the truth, why place innuendos and speculations where none exists, where is the ethical and objective journalistic standards of the FORUM???? Oops they have NONE!!!!!!!!!!!

On the other hand, the owner was out with the inspectors in the morning. He could have easily picked up the litter on the property.

How do you know – I have been oustide Applebees, Ground Round and places around Fargo and see the same thing strewn in their parking lots. Why doesn’t the FORUM show those parking lots as well after their business has closed for the night?
Why does this have to be in Fargo? Are you saying a business can only be legit in Fargo? Have you priced buildings in Fargo? The rent is outrageous!!!
Its ignorant comments like yours that show the herd mentality of the area!!!!!!!!!!!

I have priced building rent in Fargo, and actually rent 2 locations and own another. I also went through the proper channels of making sure I have the right inspections and permits to operate my businesses.
You’re right, there is ‘garbage’ everywhere. However, you’re ignorant to compare this type of business to Applebees, the GR, and others. Those types of businesses aren’t even in the same category.
As far as being in Fargo, of course business can be legit out side of town, but I’m sure there’s a bigger reason he didn’t want to set up shop in town. He’s not stupid, he’s had businesses before and so has some of his family, he knows the deal. Why couldn’t he have had his strip bar in Minnetonka or anywhere else in the Twin Cities area? And if he was so worried about ‘not making a scene’, I can think of 3 locations, off the top of my head, outside the city limits he could have moved into that ARE up to par for business operations and public occupancy for 100+ patrons and would have passed any inspection.
Sorry your new hangout ain’t open anymore Liberty, go to the Northern, maybe you can get a senior discount there.

You know what happens when you assume that I go to this new place and its ignorant comments like yours w/o any factual basis that people rally against.
Your pathetic attempt at belittling someone elses opinion only weakens yours and makes you seem despreate. Pathetic.

“Your pathetic attempt at belittling someone elses opinion only weakens yours and makes you seem despreate. Pathetic.”
Looks like your sticking your foot in your mouth again. Go read your comment to my OP, the last line.
“Its ignorant comments like yours that show the herd mentality of the area!!!!!!!!!!!”
Now who belittled who first for their comment? And I really have jack crap to be desperate about. The great thing about this country is I have right, as do you, to make comments whether they are belittling or not. How is the truth belittling?

I’m going to go ahead and call bullcrap on that comment. Part of the *charm* of working in the restaurant industry, especially for these chains, is having the unfortunate responsibility of cleaning up the grounds. Most of those businesses also have trash and cigarette recepticles outside their businesses. This place looks like it has neither. It basically looks like it was thrown together on a shoestring budget knowing damn well they’d make a killing profit wise, under the misconception they wouldn’t be held to the same standards every other business is.

Yeah… looks like they’re making a killing for sure! Only open 1 day before they got shut down, they probably sitting at the kitchen table right now just ogling at all that money they made.
Exactly my point, this place doesn’t come close in comparison to more reputable places.

Not only is the picture pathetic, the article was an editorial disguised as a story. The writer believes that this place is a place of “indecent exposure”? I weep for the current condition of journalism.

The owner said he was surprised by this? He also said in a previous article or somewhere that he has relatives that operate businesses. Knowing that a building he is going to open to the public has to be up to code should not have been a surprise for him.

It also highlights a potential problem. They can be as strict as they can be enforcing the “No alcohol sold here” rules, but they can’t control drinking on their property by those who may or may not be 21. I know he claimed the very intoxicated wouldn’t be allowed in, but I think that would be as flexible as a good dancer.

And what will your significant other do when they see your picture or car parked there? Those that cry the loudest and make the noise usually have the most to hide or are the biggest hypocrits.

I love how there’s like a couple of beer cans in the grass and people are going ape over how unclean this place is. How long did that take to clean up after the pic, 20 seconds?

I don’t think the inspectors even looked for things that might snag on the workers clothes and possibly injure them. How do they determine whether or not being a stripper is a blue collar job? Oh, I suppose it’s in the Blue Laws somewhere.

That picture looks like the parking lot after the Grand Forks TEA Party rally. Except the cans were Oly and RC Cola instead of Bud and Mountain Dew.
