It doesn’t matter if the contract was a release of liability or not, the law and the courts do not accept retroactive contracts. basically if they tried to use it for anything prior to the date of the signature, they can’t. I would hope they wouldn’t even try, but the law is the law. So plain and simple if they are found at fault or negligent, nothing singed after the fire will be able to be used as a waver of liability anyway.
