Spend, spend, spend. On a relationship with our sister cities? What?!! The Amtrak already serves Chicago to the Twin Cities with a nearly empty train as it passes the streets of Cottage Grove each morning around 8 a.m. Go watch it pass for yourselves.
High speed will be the same way. If it’s a big deal to do, then those profiting from that business should pay it, not the taxpayer. This isn’t the early 1900′s when rail track is first laid as a new means of transportation to join cities. It’s already there and already not used because it’s expensive and inefficient for customers. It’s time to retire the councilwoman who has been at the helm while we watched our county decline. Autumn, you have my vote!!
