H1N1 scare had positive side effect

More people decided to get seasonal flu shots, which led to lighter flu season
Last year’s H1N1 scare had droves of people lining up for shots to ward off the so-called “swine flu,” but Dr. Curt Nyhus also noticed a positive side effect. Continue Reading

I took both shots last year, in November; In March I was sick for seven days. No shot for me this year !

I will never get one of their flu shots as I do not trust what might be in them. They keep saying about how bad the flu season will be and people keep going and getting them not fully knowing what all might be in that shot or what the side effects may be.
Not trusting our government and drug companies you say? You betcha!

For those of you who don’t get a flu shot, would you please paint a red spot on your forehead so I can avoid you. You might also want to avoid drinking beer, water, and orange juice. There is a plot out there to turn paranoid conservatives into bleeding heart liberals by putting certain loosey goosey drugs in their beer, etc. Also, they plan on injecting this into meat. The only thing they don’t plan on tinkering with is prunes so I would load up on the prunes. You will be safe then.

By all means, lets hype up a non event and fatten the wallets of the vaccine maker.

I already got mine at the FastTrack walk-in at Hornbacher’s. Scoff if you want, but I think the vaccination is an added measure of protection. Nothing replaces good hygiene and common sense measures to prevent the spread of flu, though. I think, despite the shortage of vaccine last year, increased awareness of how flu spreads is the biggest factor in the light flu year.

Swine flu, bird flu, global cooling, global warming, AIDS, on and on and on….. I’m tired of the government/media telling us we are all going to die. When do we stop listening to the ‘experts’ who go on TV giving dooms day scenarios and people altering their lives to ward off impending doom. How about someone going on TV (an ‘expert’, celebrity, or Government official – you know, someone with true credibility) and tell us all to relax, eat right, exercise a bit, don’t have sex with people you pick up at bars, take a few vitamin C tablets, and eat mom’s chicken noodle soup if you get sick and all will be right. That would be much more helpful then whipping up this hysteria every 6 months or so.

I’m not getting the flu shot. I believe that they are ok for some people but every time I take it I get sick and have a cold the rest of the winter. My wife has the same reaction to it and my mother used to say she’d have to die to feel better after getting that shot.
