It is amazing to me that Mr. Pratt would say Ms.Ford has administrative experience. Her experience has been to decimate one of the most successful County attorny’s office in Minnesota by demoting accomplished division heads, promoting a progam that eliminates juveniles from being prosecuted for crimes, like repeated buglary and lying about her staff that they discriminate against minorities. Before she took over there had been no complaints ever filed against the staff. I am also disturbed by her treatment of women and white males on her staff. Women who get pregnant and take maturnity leave are disparaged and white males recieve training how they stand on the shoulders of minorities, administratively she is a failure. My vote is for Mark Rubin.

Perhaps Leah does need to educate herself on some of Melanie Fords efforts…..but the sentance in your post, “Please educate yourself before you print lies.”, makes absolutely no sense. If Leah needs to “educate” herself as you advocate, that means she must not know what she’s saying is untrue. If she doesn’t know what she’s saying is untrue then it isn’t a lie. So please follow your own advice and “educate” youself before you post.

My vote is for Rubin too, but not for the reasons you describe.
Ford’s office has not been tough on pregnancy or minorities – that is rubbish. In fact her office has not been tough on anything except trying to take a wage she wasn’t entitled to. Rather, she’s just too soft. And it shows.

He can write his name in the snow. I’d like to see Melanie do that. On second thought I don’t think I’d like to see any woman do that.

Mark Rubin can listen to you, help you problem solve, and manage the lawful affairs of the county in an effective and professional manner.
Melanie can probalby listen to you, help you problem solve, but she has proven that she can’t manage the lawful affairs of the county in an effective nad professional manner.
It’s apparent to me that she has a feminist agenda, which is fine, except not when you’re the county attorney.

Ford made a comment that was aired last night saying that it was”uncomfortable running against an employee”….. HELLO? Melanie, dear, Mark is not one of YOUR employees, he’s a county employee and one of your subordinates. Maybe this is your problem. Your think that this is your office, your department, and you’re the owner. BUT YOU’RE NOT the owner or the employer. WE ARE! And we are about to fire you!

Katie, you say Rubin is unethical on one hand. Then on the other hand, you said it’s ok for Ford to do the same thing. HUH? So Rubin can’t approach his close, personal friend? Rubin isn’t a supervisor. There’s no pressure on co-workers. It’s obvious you know very little of Mark Rubin.
Vote Rubin.

Torpedo, what I am saying is that politics DO NOT belong in any workplace. Most companies in our area will not let ANY workers spread political literature. I’m not just talking about supervisors. Supervisors are the ones who should watch that this doesn’t happen.

Dear Ford apologist, AKA katie, IT’S A POLITICAL OFFICE! If she doesn’t have the support of those who work closest with her, why should we vote for her? Because YOU said so?

The longer Melanie stays in office, the more likely it becomes that some sort of harassment suit will be brought against her. She clearly is in over her head.

katie, read the article. She has demonstrated a hostility towards groups not supporting her political agenda. This usually results in some sort of harassment claim filed by the subordinate against the superior.

“Improper to see the endorsement”. “I didn’t seek the endorsement”. Well, what else do you say when you know you wouldn’t get them in the first place?
Two law enforcement organizations and her own co-workers refused to give her the nod. What does that say?

Torpedo, LMAO! A Freudian slip if there ever was one! improper to see, because she will never see……. The onliest way she would “see” the endorsement would be to spy on the endorsing committees.

In my drive around the outskirts of Duluth today, I counted 11 Rubin signs and 0 Ford signs.
You didn’t say that at all, katie. You said so what if Ford did it. Did you not?

katie, at least Rubin CAN prosecute. Take a wild guess on how many criminal cases Ford has tried. Take a wild guess on how many criminal cases Ford has even charged out in the nearly 4 years she’s been in office. Go ahead.

Politics don’t belong in the workplace? The only reason a big company wouldn’t want political information passed is related to efficiency of their employment dollars, not because they are trying to take the high road. Politics touch every part of our lives, especially our work life (taxes, regulations, domestic/foreign policy, etc) so why shouldn’t they be discussed? Now if an employee chooses to avoid discussion, so be it, but discussing one’s views with their co-workers isn’t an ethics issue.
