CHEERS to Mitchell Regional Habitat for Humanity, which held its first “Brush With Kindness” event earlier this month. On a Saturday, 26 volunteers showed up, ready to paint the home and clean up the yard of a Mitchell woman. The event was made possible with gifts from the Mitchell Charitable Foundation, South Dakota Habitat for Humanity and donations to the local chapter. Even better news: The organization wants to do it again next year, perhaps painting as many as two or three homes in the Mitchell area. We commend the Mitchell Regional Habitat for Humanity for its efforts and hope the group continues to be able to find volunteers to aid with these worthwhile projects. Continue Reading
