Herseth Sandlin not really for S. Dakota
To the Editor:
How can anyone believe that Stephanie Herseth Sandlin voted against the health-care bill because she felt it was not right for South Dakota? Why won’t she sign on to the bill to repeal if that was true?
Nancy Pelosi had enough votes to pass the bill originally, so why would she need Stephanie’s vote? She knew Stephanie was coming up for re-election this year and voters were against this bill. Continue Reading

I think the real question should be; what did Stephanie Herseth Sandlin do to oppose the health-care bill? If she actively did something to oppose the bill, other than log in with an inconsequential no-vote, then maybe i could see that she truly opposed it. As it was, she sat on the sidelines and played it safe.
I always thought that a Representative was there to represent the people and not straddle a fence, and further, to speak for the people, and not just make an attempt to try and perfect their double-speak. If she actively and loudly spoke out against this health-care garbage that has been rammed down our throats, then I missed it. Sadly, about all I’ve seen and heard from Rep. Sandlin is that she’s taking her talking points from “Queen” Pelosi and handing the people of South Dakota a bunch of political rhetoric.
