My heart aches for Alex and his Family. It has since I first heard of this tragedy.
A person named Tim and I both responded with disgust to the article of Julie Gronski wanting work release privileges. In her ‘rehabilitation (snicker)’ she should be made to read this latest article Out Loud DAILY….and when She Cries Real Tears as she reads it Maybe she might Finally Get It….whether she realizes it or not, she did kill Alex by killing his Spirit to live with his severe disabilities .
Julie Gronski is More than ready to hop, skip and jump back into her life while Alex wishes he could end his.
This is so Distressing…..
I am repeating my comment from the last article (and Tim’s as well). It was disheartening to me that only the two of us commented on Julie Gronski’s Lack of Remorse by asking for Special Privileges.

I trust Judge Floerke made the initial sentence decision based on the law and experience. And I applaud this recent decision to Not Allow Work Release Privileges.
For Gronski to ask for Special Privileges such as work release on such a Short punishment sentence considering the damage she caused in so many lives says to me she has mentally moved on from the Baluff family anguish in general and Alex Baluff’s lifelong sentence of disability in particular. Alex’s lifestyle showed a commitment to becoming a highly productive and successful person. I believe he will still become that person but his struggles will be lifelong in contrast to Gronski’s hop, skip and jump back to her old lifestyle.
I find her behavior from the night she was ‘downing beer and shots before driving’ to her flippant statement ‘I thought I hit a deeer’ to her recent letter to the court….unconscionable.
Best wishes to the Baluff family.
I expect to see Gronski and her attitude in court again for DUI but I hope she proves me wrong for Everyones sake.
If you think my commentary is harsh, ask the Baluff family how they would define Harsh.

Well said Misty!
Considering the cheesy sentence she received for what she did, she has a lot of guts asking for a lighter sentence and the judicial system is a joke for entertaining and agreeing with the thought!
Its not only what she did its the fact she didn’t stop or turn herself in even after it made the local news! Once caught she then tried to prove remorse, so as far as anything less than total jail time is a joke! I totally disagree with the judges decision, to let her out of any jail sentence into a halfway house no matter how far up MADD’s ladder she plans to climb! Its great she can pick up tools to become productive but will it erase the damage she did? I bet the Baluff family wishes they could do the same sentence then pick up tools to get their lives all back.

This boy is a complete idiot. What was he possibly thinking? If he really wanted to end his life, why didn’t he use a gun or a razor blade? Why did he have to put someones life in danger over his stupidity?
I feel so sorry for the person that he jumped in front of. Hopefully they will not get into trouble. If I was the owner, I would sue the family for the damages of the car.

Miguel, did you even read the story? The young man in question wasn’t thinking clearly because, he no longer has the ability to do so.
Thanks to Julie Gronski (drunk driver), he now suffers from a Traumatic Brain Injury and very possibly will never think clearly again in his life.
If you want to be angry with someone, direct your anger toward her, as she is the responsible party.

Pay Attention Miguel. He has a Traumatic Brain Injury from a Drunk Driver almost killing him. Do you know what that means? Perhaps you should read the article again…..
I wouldn’t mind hearing from the unfortunate woman who hit him…..it appears to me she has a Lot of Compassion, covering him with a blanket while the Ambulance was on its way. I doubt she would want the Baluff Family to experience any more Trauma than they have already thanks to Julie Gronski.

Miguel, your comment is cruel and tasteless. You should only be so lucky that your life is not altered so tragically by such a selfish, cruel, and immature drunk.
