K2 may be banned, but alternatives grow like weeds

The city of Duluth’s ban on synthetic marijuana may go up in smoke. The owner of the Duluth store “The Last Place on Earth” says he’s ready with alternative products when a city ban on K2 and similar products takes effect on Sept. 30.

Jim Carlson should write a check to the DNT and Fedora for a brilliant ad campaign they have created for his store and product. Bravo. This deserves an Addy Award.

So, they ban this product because of how it affects behavior. Excuse me but, what about how alcohol affects behavior? I would certainly rather deal with someone that is high on pot than a violent drunk!
How many domestic abuse calls, car accidents, people with the DT’s, etc….involve alcohol? Thousands every year.

So that makes this stuff all right? And I’m not sure, but I think regulatory laws have been passed in relation to alcohol. Maybe you can correct me on that.

$15/gram?? Good lord, it would be cheaper to risk the ticket and just get a small amount of the real stuff.

Ok, here’s how I see it. This stuff is labeled as an incense. Incense, to me, means lighting it and letting it burn in a dish or holder of some sort around your house (at least that’s what I do with my insence). But people are smoking it. If the’re going to ban this stuff, they also need to ban rubbing alcohol because even though it’s labeled for other uses, there are some stupid people out there who drink it expecting the same effects as a jug of actual drinkable booze. You can’t fix stupid…and frankly, I’m with Peter on this one.

I’m with peter and a.a….
I couldn’t believe the prices quoted.
You just can’t fix stupid is one of my favorite sayings….
The ordinance is, at the very Least, appropriate for Warning kids and parents. If I were a parent, without the articles and brew-ha-ha surrounding this latest Stupid Drug ‘Adventure’ I probably wouldn’t have had a clue.
That said…..with the cost of ‘incense’, and the rising taxes on ‘our property, entertainment and alcohol’, wouldn’t surprise me to hear ‘stills’ coming back into vogue with those who have a Back Forty to hide them on….I was just kidding
(or was I?)
